Arriva save the day for Halewood Scouts
After being turned away from multiple local companies, the request for help repairing and renovating their camping trailer, the 9th Halewood Scouts group were in luck when they asked Arriva.
The trailer that has been used by the group for many years was in a state of disrepair and with all spare cash going toward the group’s enrichment activities.
The trailer is used for the group’s annual camping trips across the North West, but over many years of use and happy memories, it was no longer safe to use.
The Scout Leader, Andrew Cross contacted numerous local companies asking for help to repair the trailer, to no avail, until Arriva came to the rescue. Arriva collected the trailer and set about the makeover.
With the trailer needing repairs to the fibreglass roof, removal of the old wheel arch panels, the fabrication and fit new wheel arch panels, removal of old number plate mount, the fabrication and fit new number plate mount, relining interior floor with slip resistant floor covering, repainting trailer exterior, chassis, wheels, safety check and service all running gear, Fitting new marker lights and reflectors and applying new Scout decals.
The cost of the work carried out by St Helens depot Body Shop Manager Dave White and his team is estimated at around £3,000.
