Start Date: 01/01/0001
Information regarding revised timetables for Services 5/5A/X5, 6, 9, 17/17A/X17, 22, 27/27A. 28/28B, 29/29A and 63 in Teesside from 19 July 2015.
From Sunday 19th July, we're making some changes to some of our services in Teesside & East Cleveland. Only the services mentioned below will see revisions, all services not mentioned will continue to operate to their normal timetables.
These changes come as a result of feedback recieved from passengers, our drivers and our own analysis of service punctuality.
Full details of whats happening by service is as follows;
Following feedback we have received, we're revising Service 5/5A/X5 to improve punctuality and improve connections in and around Loftus.
The timetable is slightly changed throughout by a few minutes, but more significantly revised operating times for the Monday to Friday peak time Service X5, which will now arrive and depart into/from Middlesbrough at more attractive times for our regular passengers from East Cleveland.
A further change is that we have swapped journeys from Middlesbrough to Liverton Mines or Skinningrove to operate on the opposite half hour to what they do now. This switch of times for journeys via the villages will allow people locally within either village to visit Loftus and then have around 30 minutes to do their shopping before the return bus departs back to the village. This has come about following feedback we have received that passengers didnt have enough time to complete their errands. Journeys towards Middlesbrough from either Skinningrove and Liverton Mines will continue to operate at roughly the same times as now, however.
We're adding an extra afternoon journey from Stockton to Hartburn at 17:40 to allow a later option for passengers to Hartburn from Stockton.
There will be a small revision to the timetable after 17:30 on an evening, however the change is relatively small and journeys are only retimed by a few minutes.
We're making a significant change to this service from 19 July and following our consultation last month this is what is happening;
- Service 17 will see a minor timetable revision, however the service will continue to operate to the same route and relative timetable as now. Evening and Sunday services will still operate, but a marginally revised timetable is proposed.
- Service 17A will also see a small timetable revision throughout.
- Service 17B will regrettably be withdrawn due to low passenger usage. Revised Service X17 will provide a partial peak time replacement.
- Service X17 will be revised to operate via Trenchard Avenue and Mitchell Avenue in Thornaby, in order to provide a fast peak time option from Thornaby to Middlesbrough, plus negate delays encountered around the A19/A174 junction on the existing route.
Services 17 and 17A will combine to offer a bus up to every 15 minutes between Thornaby & Middlesbrough via Acklam. Service X17 at peak times will increase the service offering to around 6 buses per hour between Thornaby & Middlesbrough.
We're making a change to the Sunday daytime timetable in order to improve punctuality. Most journeys will run between 1 to 9 minutes later than they do now, following feedback received from our drivers and our own punctuality observations.
There will be a small revision to the Monday to Friday afternoon timetable to improve our service offering after 17:00. Our Saturday timetable will also see a minor revision to further improve punctuality.
There will be a more significant revision to the timetable of this service, which will see some underused early morning and later afternoon/early evening journeys withdrawn or retimed. Buses will still continue to operate up to every 20 minutes, plus hourly to Lingdale with more frequent peak time journeys too. We're confident that the revised timetable will offer an improved level of punctuality.
We're also making a revision to this service in order to compliment our service offering between Middlesbrough & Marton. Buses will continue to operate up to every 20 minutes, with hourly daytime extensions to Great Ayton and Stokesley. We're confident that the revised timetable will offer an improved level of punctuality.
Due to the impending closure of Redcar Bus Station, we're revising Service 63 from July to operate via a loop of Redcar Town Centre and no longer serve Redcar Bus Station. Buses will stop at Morrisons & a new stop that will be installed to the eastern side of the current pedestrianised area of Redcar Town Centre, plus Redcar Clock too. Passengers will be able to board and alight at any stop on the loop.
As a result of this, there will be a timetable revision throughout, however most users will not see a difference.
