Information regarding revisions to Service X7, X8 & X30 from Sunday 24 January 2016.

 

 

We are making some changes to services X7, X8 and X30 from Sunday 24th January 2016 to improve punctuality and respond to customers’ requests.

On the X7 and X8, most Monday to Friday morning journeys will run a few minutes earlier to combat delays caused by increasing traffic congestion around South Gosforth and the Balliol and Quorum Business Parks. We know that the buses are currently not as reliable as you need them to be, and these changes will help you get to your destination on time. On Saturdays, the full half hourly X7 service will start earlier and finish later, improving journey options in the morning and early evening. That’s great if you start work early or if you’re going out with friends in the evening.

Last September, we improved the X30 to run up to half-hourly on Monday to Friday afternoons, with buses leaving Newcastle for Blyth at 1640, 1710 and 1740. Unfortunately, the enhanced service is not as popular as we hoped it would be, so we are going back to the old timetable with buses leaving Newcastle at 1630 and 1730. There are no changes to the morning timetable, and buses will continue to use Stand T in the Newcastle Haymarket Bus Station. Also, following customers’ requests, buses will serve the stops on the Great North Road at the junctions with Brunton Lane and Polwarth Drive, improving access to these areas.

 

Revised timetables will be available on our website very soon, with printed leaflets following shortly after, available on bus, in local travel shops or usual stockists.
