Nick Knox, area managing director for Arriva North East, said: “We are committed to providing value for money fares and high service standards. Due to current economic pressures and in order to maintain our current service levels we need to increase some fares this January, we have tried to keep these to a minimum. We have managed to freeze most adult fares below £3, with many of these fares now remaining the same as in 2012. On another positive note we have also frozen all child fares across the region as well as some of the adult Durham multi journey fares, these are the Durham County Day, Weekly and 4-Weekly tickets and the Durham District Weekly and 4-Weekly tickets.”
“We are also introducing a new range of triple tickets covering three zones, Sunderland, Peterlee and Hartlepool, these will offer our customers discounted day, weekly and 4-weekly tickets.” you can download the *new triple ticket map*
Most adult day tickets will rise by just 10 or 20 pence and weekly tickets by 50p, with some single and return fares seeing rises of 10p and 30p respectively.”
There is a further 10% discount on all our 4 Weekly tickets if they are purchased online at http://www.arrivabus.co.uk/. For all the details and to see individual fares please visit http://www.arrivabus.co.uk/ or pick up one of the leaflets from your bus or local travel centre.
