We are making changes to some of our services in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland from Sunday 24th July 2016 following alterations to Nexus contracts and in response to customers’ requests.

We are making changes to some of our services in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland from Sunday 24th July 2016 following alterations to Nexus contracts and in response to customers’ requests. All of the changes are described below.

Service 6: Newcastle – Shieldfield – Jesmond Vale

There will be minor changes to the timetable to improve punctuality – click here to download a copy. Free Wi-Fi will also be available on the buses, allowing you to surf the web and catch up with e-mails on the move.

Service 13: West Denton – Throckley – Walbottle – West Denton

This service will be run by another company and Arriva North East tickets will not be available to buy or use. For more information click www.nexus.org.uk

Service 18/18A: Four Lane Ends – Freeman Hospital – Byker – Walker

We will continue to run all evening and Sunday journeys on this route and the full range of Arriva North East tickets will be available to buy and use. Service 32/32A: Newcastle – Benwell – Kenton Bar – Freeman Hospital – Four Lane Ends

All evening and Sunday journeys on this route will be run by us and the full range of Arriva North East tickets will be available to buy and use. Service 33A: Newcastle – Gosforth – Regent Centre – Hollywood Avenue – Fawdon

Service 46: CAV – RVI – Newcastle – Regent Centre – Polwarth Drive – Great Park

Following customers’ requests, buses travelling from CAV towards the RVI, Newcastle and Great Park will serve the stop on Studley Terrace near to the junction with Sidney Grove. There are no other changes to the route or timetable, but you can click here to download a copy.

Services 59 and 359: Backworth – North Tyneside Hospital – Whitley Bay or Marden Estate

Service 84/84A: West Denton – Fenham – Newcastle – Benwell – Metrocentre

This service will be run by another company and Arriva North East tickets will not be available to buy or use. For more information click www.nexus.org.uk

Service 335: Four Lane Ends – Battle Hill – Hadrian Park – Cobalt Business Park

This service will be run by another company and Arriva North East tickets will not be available to buy or use. For more information click www.nexus.org.uk

Service 496: Brunswick – Hazlerigg – Kingston Park – Regent Centre – DSS Tyneview Park

This service will be run by another company and Arriva North East tickets will not be available to buy or use. For more information click www.nexus.org.uk

Service 554: Regent Centre – South Gosforth – Four Lane Ends – Quorum Business Park

This service was introduced as a trial in 2013 to see if there is enough demand for a permanent link between Regent Centre, South Gosforth, Four Lane Ends and Quorum Business Park. Unfortunately, passenger numbers have not grown as much as we needed to cover the cost of running the service, so it will be withdrawn.

The majority of journeys can still be made on alternative Arriva North East buses, including the 52, 54, 55, 494, 553, 555, X7 and X8. Customers travelling from places in Northumberland to DSS Longbenton, Four Lane Ends, Balliol Business Park and Quorum Business Park should go via Cramlington, Gosforth or Newcastle City Centre, changing buses there.

Service M71: Kingston Park – Newbiggin Hall – Kingston Park

This service will be run by another company and Arriva North East tickets will not be available to buy or use. For more information click www.nexus.org.uk

Service W2: Whitley Bay – Briardene

This service will be run by another company and Arriva North East tickets will not be available to buy or use. For more information click www.nexus.org.uk

MAX X11: Newcastle – Regent Centre – Cramlington – Newsham – Blyth

Buses will serve the new stops on Laverock Hall Road (within the Portland Wynd housing development) in Blyth. There are no alterations to the route or timetable, but you can click here to download a copy.

MAX X14: Newcastle – Regent Centre – Morpeth – Rothbury – Thropton

Following the completion of major roadworks at Crag End near Rothbury, buses will revert to running via the B6344 between Rothbury and Longframlington. As a result, they will not operate via the B6341 and will not serve the existing stops at Cragside House.

The revised route will be quicker than the current one, so we are making some changes to the timetable. Click here to download it.

Sapphire X22: Newcastle – Regent Centre – Bedlington – Stakeford – Ashington

Buses will serve the new stops near Aldi on Schalksmuhle Road in Bedlington. There are no alterations to the route or timetable, but you can click here to download a copy.

Service X30: Newcastle – Regent Centre – Newsham – Blyth (Express)

The Monday to Friday afternoon journeys will run ten minutes earlier and leave from Stand N (not Stand T) in the Newcastle Haymarket Bus Station. There are no alterations to Monday to Friday morning buses. Click here to download the new timetable.
