Services 1 and X21 – Closure of Welwyn Bridge in Bedlington Station

From Monday 22nd February to Tuesday 5th April 2016

The Welwyn Bridge in Bedlington Station will be closed for repairs from Monday 22nd February to Tuesday 5th April 2016. During the closure, services 1 and X21 will not be able to cross the bridge and will take a different route through the north of Bedlington Station.

Buses travelling towards Blyth, Bedlington and Newcastle will follow their normal route to the junction of the A1147 and Stakeford Road, then run via Red Row Drive and Barrington Road to Ravensworth Street, from where the normal route will apply again. Buses travelling towards Ashington, Wansbeck Hospital, Newbiggin and Widdrington will follow the same route in reverse.

We will not be able to serve the bus stops at the Welwyn Factory, and buses will not stop to pick-up or set down passengers on Red Row Drive or Barrington Road. There are no changes to the timetable, with both services continuing to run up to every 20 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes, hourly in the evenings and on Sundays.
