Travelling around Richmond
Richmond lies on the banks of the River Swale at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, with a skyline punctuated by historical landmarks. It has been described as the jewel in the heart of North Yorkshire, and after a visit to the town, with its museums, monuments and beautiful Georgian architecture, you’ll soon see why.
Just a few miles from Scotch Corner on the A1, Richmond is easily accessible by road. Arriva buses operate in the area, with routes to nearby towns and villages, such as Colburn and Catterick, as well as regular services to and from Darlington.
