Travelling around Dalton Park
If you’re looking for a designer label bargain then you don’t have to look any further than Dalton Park Shopping Centre in the north-east of England. It’s located on the outskirts of Murton, in County Durham, and was opened in 2003 having been developed on what was originally an area of industrial wasteland.
It would be a mistake to think that retail therapy is the only reason to pay a visit to Dalton Park, however. Alongside the centre there are 55 acres of parkland waiting to be explored where you can enjoy three guided walks or catch a glimpse of the various wildlife.
Dalton Park is easy to reach by road – simply take the A19 from Newcastle in the north or Sunderland in the south. Arriva buses run regular routes to the centre from places like Durham, Thornlee and Peterlee that utilise our state of the art Sapphire vehicles.
First and foremost, there are more than 70 stores in the Dalton Park Shopping Centre, stocking over 200 designer and luxury ranges, many of which are on sale at less than half the usual price. Some of the biggest names to look out for include Gap, M and S and Next, and keen bargain hunters will be able to snap up everything from luxury mattresses to designer jewellery and handmade confectionery.
If all that shopping makes you hungry, there are 15 places to eat and drink in the centre, ranging from the simple pleasures of Spud-U-Like and McDonald’s to a three-course treat at Pizza Express. There’s even a traditional north-east pub called The Dancing Betty, where you’ll find food, drink and a welcome for all the family.
