Travelling around Dalton Park
If you’re looking for a designer label bargain then you don’t have to look any further than Dalton Park Shopping Centre in the north-east of England. It’s located on the outskirts of Murton, in County Durham, and was opened in 2003 having been developed on what was originally an area of industrial wasteland.
It would be a mistake to think that retail therapy is the only reason to pay a visit to Dalton Park, however. Alongside the centre there are 55 acres of parkland waiting to be explored where you can enjoy three guided walks or catch a glimpse of the various wildlife.
Dalton Park is easy to reach by road – simply take the A19 from Newcastle in the north or Sunderland in the south. Arriva buses run regular routes to the centre from places like Durham, Thornlee and Peterlee that utilise our state of the art Sapphire vehicles.
If you’re concerned your kids may get bored while you pick up some bargains then rest assured they’ll be catered for. As well as a play area with equipment for all ages, the centre has its own mascots in the shape of Dalton the Dinosaur and Safari Sam.
Family friendly events take place during periods like Christmas, Easter and bonfire night, and if all else fails, you can always whisk the kids to the centre’s own 7 screen Cineworld cinema.
