Travelling around Barnard Castle
Built around a towering medieval fortress, Barnard Castle is situated in County Durham on the banks of the River Tees. Surrounded by rolling countryside in the heart of the Durham Dales, this historic market town featured in The Guardian's list of the top ten best small towns in the country.
With good access to the M6 and the A1, Barnard Castle is easy to reach by road. Arriva buses run services in and around the town centre, with links to outlying areas, such as Piercebridge and Gainford, as well as regular routes to and from Darlington.
