MAXimum Impact: MAX comes to Northumberland
Arriva North East welcomed the world famous TITAN the robot to launch its new branded MAX buses at events in Blyth and Newcastle.
The buses, which will go into service on the X10/X11 route, will be the first MAX buses to launch in the UK.
Passengers in Blyth and Newcastle we treat to a special demonstration of the new buses by Titan, who has performed with stars such as Will.i.am and Rihanna.
The MAX service offers quick links from Blyth and Cramlington into the heart of Newcastle with free WIFI, comfortable high backed leather style seating, enhanced customer service training for drivers, a no quibble money back guarantee and the very latest in journey planning technology for customers.
The MAX concept is the latest stage in a programme of enhancements that have already seen timetable and punctuality improvements introduced on the routes to deliver high levels of service reliability.
MAX is being introduced alongside further upgrades and once all are in place, around a quarter of Arriva North East’s fleet will have been enhanced. Based on the positive customer reception given to Arriva’s premium Sapphire service, where there has been 10% growth despite quite different demographics, both brands are expected to quickly generate strong passenger growth.
Nick Knox, area managing director for Arriva North East said: “We know that our passengers want quick, no fuss, links into the city centre, and MAX does just that. We’ve already had great feedback about the free WIFI and new interiors.”
“We realise the importance of continually making bus travel better for our customers and in 2014 alone we will have invested over £11m in buses for the region. As a company we are always looking into new technologies and concepts in order to enhance the journey experience, so what better way to celebrate the launch of MAX than with a world famous robot!”
