Travelling around Telford
A bustling town centre with plenty of parkland and loads of transport links into nearby Birmingham, Telford has a lot going for it. While it might not have the frantic buzz of Brum, it more than makes up for this with its outdoor landmarks and scenic location along the River Severn.
Those into action-packed activities will find plenty to keep them entertained in Telford. There’s an ice rink, four public swimming pools, bowling, bingo, dry ski slopes and that’s just to name but a few! If you’re bored in Telford, then you’re simply not trying hard enough!
With regular trains to Birmingham and Manchester, getting to and from here is a piece of cake. And getting around the town itself couldn’t be easier, thanks to the Arriva bus service. You can also travel to Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton and Bridgnorth on one of the regular Arriva bus routes.
No visit to Telford would be complete without a visit to the imaginatively named Telford Shopping Centre! This 25-acre retail complex has a Clarks, Clintons and Claire’s Accessories. There’s also numerous cafes and coffee shops for when the retail therapy gets too much, and you could do with a tasty reward!
If action is your thing, then a visit to the Telford Snowboard and Ski Centre is sure to be right up your street. Pay a visit to the dry slopes to get your skis on, whatever the time of the year is. There’s also a climbing wall and fitness centre here so the whole family will be catered for. If you’d rather exercise your grey matter than work your muscles, then the Ironbridge Gorge Museums are well worth a visit. This fascinating world heritage site has 10 separate museums that tell the story of the Industrial Revolution in a fun and hands-on way that’s great for children and adults alike.
