Travelling around Shrewsbury
Think black and white Tudor houses, cobbled alleyways and crooked church spires and you have an idea of what picturesque Shrewsbury looks like. Surrounded by countryside and with the River Severn running right through it, this pretty town has plenty of fascinating highpoints.
With a host of historic attractions, including Shrewsbury Abbey, Shrewsbury Museum and Longner Hall, this town has plenty to attract the visitor who is looking for a little culture. There's also a host of parks, nature reserves and walking trails for those who love the outdoors.
Shrewsbury is a well-connected town with regular train links to nearby Telford, Hereford and Birmingham (Brum city centre is just an hour away by car). Arriva buses in the town will take visitors and residents to the nearby attractions of Market Drayton, Whitchurch and Newport.
Latest Service Updates
Due to rising water levels, services will unable to serve stops around the town centre, including Shrewsbury Bus Station.
From 20th February 2020, London Road in Shrewsbury will be closed one way for traffic going out of town. This closure is expected to last for six weeks.
From 4th January 2020, we will be making some minor changes to services in Shrewsbury and Tamworth.
