Travelling around Coalville
A busy market town, Coalville is a charming place that displays beautiful buildings that provide an insight into its history. Not content with just looking wonderful, the area is filled with plenty of things to do and was the birthplace of the Action Man figures, one of the most popular children’s toys around. It once produced Star Wars and Care Bears figures too.
When you’re in Coalville, you’ll find there’s plenty of public transport to help you get around. Arriva bus services travel far and wide, meaning that you can go to Leicester, Ibstock, Loughborough, and many more places in the surrounding areas.
Walking around Coalville you’ll find a number of eye-catching landmarks, such as the clock tower, which stands at a massive 21 metres. It’s a Grade II listed building and was built to remember those who fell during the war. Other listed buildings in the area include the former Railway House, the Castle Rock Sixth Form College, and the parish church of Christ Church.
Visitors that love shopping will find exactly what they’re looking for at the Belvoir Centre, which takes up a large part of the town centre and is filled with a number of well-known and local retailers.
