Woodhorn Crossroad Closure

7th August until 11th August 2024

We have been informed by Northumberland County Council that Woodhorn Crossroads will be closed for resurfacing works from the 7th August until 11th August between the hours of 2000 and 0600. As a result of these closures, services 1, 35 and X21 will be required to divert.

Service 1:
Journeys will operate as normal between Blyth and Wansbeck Hospital, then divert via A1068 to reach Ellington Village, from here journeys towards Widdrington will continue as normal, however journeys to Cresswell will serve Lynemouth village before returning to Cresswell.

Due to the nature of these diversions, Lynemouth will only be served 2 hourly rather than the current hourly service on an evening. Journeys will depart from Ashington at 1902, 2057 and 2257. Return journeys will depart from Cresswell at 1932 and 2132.

Service 35:
Towards Morpeth will commence journeys from Newbiggin Cresswell Arms and then follow normal route. Unfortunately we will be unable to Newbiggin Colliery and Seacrest Road areas during these closures.

Service X21:
Towards Newcastle will commence from Sandy Bay and serve Newbiggin Cresswell arms as usual, however due to the continued closure of Seacrest Road, journeys will return via Sandy Bay and A189 to rejoin the normal route at Wansbeck Hospital.

Towards Newbiggin, service will divert via Sandy Bay to reach Cresswell Arms. Unfortunately we will be unable to Newbiggin Colliery and Seacrest Road areas during these closures.

Sorry for any inconvenience and delays caused during these works.
