West Yorkshire network changes Feb 2024

From 18 February 2024

We are making some changes to our bus services across West Yorkshire from 18th February.

There will be changes to some routes and timetables from 18th February. Key features of these changes include:

  • Extra evening trips on services 106, 126, 148/149, 189, 195/196, 268, 444/446 and 496. At the moment we run a bus every hour each evening on these routes, but we’ll be doubling that with a bus every 30 minutes each evening from 18th February.
  • Lots of timetables are changed to reflect the latest traffic volumes, helping to improve our punctuality.
  • Due to Safety concerns, service 174 is no longer able to serve Bottom Boat Road.
  • Due to very low demand, evening and Sunday trips on service 260, and Monday to Saturday evening trips on service 261 are withdrawn. Also due to very low demand, school services KH1 and RA1 will no longer run.

If you know a friend or relative who would like to drive their career forward with Arriva Yorkshire, do please let them know we’re recruiting. We welcome applicants via arrivabusjobs.co.uk

Major changes are made to the timetable to improve the punctuality of the service.

Unfortunately, our drivers have been having trouble serving Bottom Boat Road due to inconsiderate car parking. When our buses cannot pass the cars to reach the terminus, that puts our drivers in a difficult predicament as the road is then blocked. We have been discussing this issue with Wakefield Council for over a year, but regrettably the problem has continued. On Safety grounds, we now have no choice but to withdraw our 174 service from Bottom Boat Road. We will run direct via Aberford Road instead.
