We’re improving Southend’s bus network
From 4 January 2026
From 4 January 2026 we’ll be making changes to some of our services in Southend to improve punctuality and provide better connections for customers using our services.
Service 1 – Southend to Rayleigh Station
We're updating our timetable to help services run on time.
Service 1 will now run:
Monday - Friday: Up to every 12 minutes.
Saturday: Up to every 15 minutes.
Sunday: Up to every 30 minutes.
Service 2 - Southend to Shoeburyness Renown
We're updating our timetable to improve punctuality. There will be no change to service frequency.
Service 6 - Southend to Garon Park
Service 6 will be withdrawn and replaced by Service 29
Services 7 and 8 – Landwick and Great Wakering to Rayleigh Station
We're reinstating the link from Landwick and Great Wakering to Southend Hospital, offering better access and convenience for local passengers. The service will be diverted at Shoeburyness Asda to Landwick and Great Wakering. Services will now run:
Monday - Friday: Up to every 20 minutes.
Saturday: Up to every 30 minutes.
Sunday: Up to every 30 minutes to Shoeburyness Renown.
Service 9 - Shoeburyness East Beach to Rayleigh Station
Service 9A between Shoeburyness Asda and Great Wakering and Landwick will be withdrawn. This section of the service will be replaced by services 7 and 8. Service 9 will continue to run to Shoeburyness East Beach. Services will run:
Monday–Friday: Up to every 20 minutes.
Saturday: Up to every 20 minutes.
Sunday: Up to every 30 minutes.
Service 29 - Garon Park Leisure Centre to Belfairs
Service 29 will be extended to Garon Park, replacing service 6. This change will provide direct connections to Garon Park and Southend Hospital via Fairfax Drive. Services will run:
Monday - Saturday: Up to every 30 minutes.
Services will operate hourly on Sundays
All services via Shoeburyness Asda will operate to Southend up to every 5 minutes Monday - Friday and up to every 8 minutes on Saturdays.
