Service Changes in West Yorkshire

From 23rd July 2023

We’re making changes to some of our services in West Yorkshire from 23rd July 2023.

Services 140, 141 - Leeds to Pontefract via Oulton, Castleford and Junction 32 –

+

On weekdays, some morning peak journeys from Leeds to Pontefract are retimed to run 3 minutes later throughout. The evening service is substantially retimed to improve the reliability of the service.

Service 165, Leeds to Kippax via Seacroft Hospital, Cross Gates, The Springs and Thorpe Park

+

We’re thrilled to be able to launch new service 165, which will complement service 164 to provide a bus generally every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime, every 30 minutes Sunday daytime, and every hour each evening between Leeds, Seacroft Hospital, Cross Gates, The Springs and Thorpe Park.

Service 164 will continue from here to Garforth (with some journeys continuing to Sherburn Industrial Estate and Selby as they do today) and service 165 will continue to Kippax. Between Thorpe Park and Kippax, service 165 will offer a bus up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime, every hour Sunday daytime and there will be some evening journeys back to Kippax too.

This creates these new and enhanced links for communities in East Leeds:

  • The Springs and Thorpe Park are reconnected to the core bus network – replacing links lost when another bus operator withdrew services X26/X27.
  • A new Sunday service is introduced on service 164, adding more services for the residents of East Garforth.
  • New service 165 provides a faster bus to Leeds for residents of Kippax as it doesn’t serve Garforth, and this will run every day of the week. Service 163 still links Kippax and Garforth.
  • Garforth and Kippax have regular links to Seacroft Hospital – 164 from Garforth and 165 from Kippax.
