Service 777 Diversion
From 21st October
Customers are advised that from Monday 21st October, the A696 on approach to Newcastle Airport from Ponteland will be subject to overnight closures from 2000 until approximately 0500 the following morning, to allow for highways repairs to be completed by National Highways. They will be no works being carried out on a Saturday evening, with all works being carried out Sunday to Friday.
Due to the nature of the closure, evening journeys on service 777 will be required to divert as follows:
Journeys towards Kingston Park will operate as normal to Ponteland Cheviot View (Badger Inn), then operate non stop between here and Kenton Bank Foot, before rejoining normal route to Kingston Park, unfortunately Newcastle Airport will not be served in this direction, with passengers being allowed to remain on bus and dropped off on the return trip back towards Morpeth.
Journeys towards Morpeth will operate as normal to Newcastle Airport, then will operate non stop to Ponteland Cheviot View.
Due to the nature of the diversions in place, buses towards Morpeth may operate approximately 5min later than currently scheduled from Ponteland.
These diversions will only affect the 2047 and 2247 departures from Morpeth, along with the 2136 and 2336 departures from Kingston Park
Sorry for any inconvenience and delays caused during these works.
