Service 57A Holywell Village
Diversion – 28th July for 5 evenings
Customers are advised that from Monday 28th July, the road through Holywell Village will be closed between the hours of 2000-0600 for 5 evenings from the Monday night, for highways repairs by Northumberland County Council.
As a result of these works, service 57A will be unable to operate the normal route from Tillmouth Avenue to Earsdon. Buses will be required to divert non stop via Seaton Sluice and Whitely Lodge area, however due to the length of the alternative route, buses towards Whitley Bay will operate roughly 10 minutes later from Earsdon.
As part of this diversion, it has been agreed by both Nexus and Northumberland County Council to terminate journeys at North Tyneside General Hospital, unfortunately this will mean that we can not serve the Billy Mill and North Shields area of the route for the 5 evenings. Passengers are advised to catch other bus services (308, 317 and 353) which provide links in these areas.
Journeys towards Cramlington and Ashington will depart from North Tyneside General Hospital at their present times, however will operate 10 mintues later from Seaton Delaval throughout to Ashington.
Journey planner and App will be updated to reflect the temporary timetable in place on the evenings.
Sorry for any inconvenience and delays caused during these works.
