Milton Keynes Changes to routes 33 X33 and X4
from Sunday 3 November
33/X33
We’re excited to include a dedicated service for Stantonbury School, with one trip in each direction timed to fit the school day. Buses will drop off and pick up passengers on Saxon Street, providing convenient access for students. This bus will be numbered X33, departing from Northampton at 07:10 and scheduled to arrive at Stantonbury Campus for 08:22, with a return journey at 15:30.
We’re making several changes to the timetable which better balances departures from Milton Keynes and Northampton throughout the day.
Additionally, we’re making a slight adjustment to the city centre route which will see buses now stopping at The Point before ending the journey at Milton Keynes rail station. For journeys home, buses will now call at The Point, Stand H3, reducing journey times from our busiest stops.
As a result of these changes, route 33A will no longer run. Buses will no longer call at St. Paul’s School, Milton Keynes, due to low demand – several other Arriva services are available within short walking distance to/from the campus.

X4
We’ve listened to your feedback and are excited to bring a new timetable to the X4 service, starting from Sunday 3 November. This update is designed to keep buses running on time while connecting you to key destinations at the times that matter most to you.
We really appreciate the feedback from schools, students and parents to help shape this next generation of the timetable. Buses will run at earlier times from Heath and Reach at 07:11 for Aylesbury Grammar, and 07:16 for Sir Henry Floyd School/Aylesbury College. Journeys home have been retimed to reflect changing traffic conditions to run more punctually.
The additional free journey will no longer run, with the last journey running on the last day of this school term, Friday 25 October.
Following the positive steps from our route changes in September, we’re making small tweaks to ensure we balance the number of buses with the changes our customer’s travel patterns and needs. This means that some lowest-used journeys will no longer run.
Our goal is to continue growing ridership while keeping the service commercially sustainable, which means providing more journeys at the busiest times of day whilst making efficiencies elsewhere in the timetable where buses are their quietest. This helps us protect this important service’s viability for the future.
