Lynemouth Bridge St Closure

Diversion to services 1 and X20

Northumberland County Council will be carrying out essential roadworks in the Lynemouth area from Monday 20th October to Monday 3rd November, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 each day.

As a result of these works, Arriva services 1 and X20 will be unable to serve Lynemouth, Woodhorn, and the eastern end of Ellington Village during these times.

To accommodate the closure, both services will divert from Ellington Plough via the A1068 and A189, re-joining their normal route at Wansbeck Hospital. This diversion will be in place only during the closure hours. Journeys operating outside of 08:00–16:00 will follow their usual route and serve all regular stops.

For Service 1, the first journey to divert northbound (towards Widdrington) will be the 08:34 departure from Ashington, with the last at 15:46. Southbound, the first diverted journey will be the 08:21 departure from Widdrington, and the last at 15:32.

For Service X20, the first northbound diverted journey (towards Alnwick) will depart Ashington at 08:09, with the last at 15:19. Southbound, the first diverted service will leave Alnwick at 07:28, with the last at 14:38.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this disruption. These works are being carried out by the local authority and are beyond Arriva’s control. We appreciate your patience and understanding while these essential repairs are completed.
