“Kids Go Free” offer returns in the North East this Half Term!

Between 25th May 2024 and 2nd of June 2024 (inclusive) up to three children aged eleven and under can travel for free on any Arriva North East service, all day every day, when accompanied on board by a fare-paying adult or adult with a valid travel pass*. 

There is lots going on in and around our network, here are a few ideas for a great family day out by bus: 

Alnwick Gardens – Catch the X18 every hour to the Poison Apple 
Embark on an adventure this May half term as we take you around The Garden. See a different side of fairytales and learn the story of The Poisoned Apple as our adventure of Twisted Tales begins.
Meet & Greet with The Poison Princess, take part in Potion Making, help the witch in The Water Tower cast her magic spell and take home your very own potion

Family Fun at Cragside Catch the X14 every hour 
Join in amidst the breathtaking beauty of nature for a day filled with adventure and discovery for all the family! Whether you are looking for a peaceful stroll or a challenging hike, there is a waymarked walk. The Hydro-power Trail is the newest addition to Cragside’s waymarked walks. Explore William Armstrongs pioneering playground and witness how he harnessed the power of water to light the house. 

LEVEL X at Captain Cook Square – Catch any service towards Middlesbrough Town Centre
Level X brings a fantastic, futuristic world of featuring bowling, adventure golf, interactive darts, arcades, esports, e kart racing and VR areas equipped with roaming virtual reality technology. 

Wharton Park Unicorn & Dragons Event – Durham - Catch any service towards Durham City Centre
Just a short walk away from Durham Bus Station this May Wharton Park the children will be taken on a mystical adventure exploring the world of unicorn and dragon through themed games and creativity around the park grounds. Online booking required. Children must be accompanied by an adult during the workshop.

The Saltburn Beach Huts – Saltburn – Catch X4 service every 30 minutes. 
Those colourful beach huts are so quintessential of British Seaside holidays. Catch the X4 and hire the beach huts for £25 a day. The huts can be found 5 minutes walk from the bus stop located just beside the beach along from the pier. 

Tractor & Digger Day (Free Event) onboard any service towards Darlington Town Centre
Tractors and diggers are heading to Darlington town centre! Head to the Market Square for the showcase, with lots of tractors and machinery to explore, ride on tractors and activities.
