Immediate suspension of evening journeys on Route 482

Following a series of serious incidents involving objects being thrown at Arriva buses on route 482 we’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend evening services on the route between Gravesend and Kings Farm.

The most recent incident resulted in a window being smashed, with shattered glass landing on and around a small child in a buggy. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries on this occasion.

This is not a decision that has been taken lightly and we understand the inconvenience this may cause to customers. However, the safety of those customers and drivers must come first.
With immediate effect, the final journeys on route 482 will now be:

•    Weekdays: 17:47 departure from Gravesend
•    Weekends: 17:35 departure from Gravesend

Arriva is working in partnership with Kent Police and to address these issues and the intention is to restore full evening service from Sunday, 4 May. However, if these incidents continue, we may have no choice but to permanently withdraw the evening journeys on this route.
