Great North Run 2024

Due to the number of road closures and limited parking, travelling by bus is the best way to get to or from the Great North Run for both runners and spectators. 

We'll be there with our special bus services throughout the day to help you get around as quickly and easily as possible, working in partnership with Transport North East, Nexus, Go North East & Stagecoach on the day.

Runners 
The race start is about a 10 minute walk from Haymarket in Newcastle city centre. Please remember that our buses and traffic will be extremely busy, so please leave plenty of time to get to the race start.

Spectators
If you want to see your family or friends take part in the run, we suggest that you just choose one place to see them - at the race start in Newcastle,  somewhere on the route, or at the race finish in South Shields.

The Transport North East 21 & Under single is just £1 per trip or buy the £3 unlimited day ticket.
