Derby Made Simpler

From Saturday 23rd April 2022.

We’re changing our fares to be simpler and easier to understand.

From Saturday 23 April, we’re making some great changes to our fares. We’re simplifying our fare zones and fares to make it easier for you to travel into and around Derby.

We are introducing new fare zones - Zone A and Zone B - and re-aligning our boundaries to simplify our fares and make them easier to understand for our customers. This includes the introduction of flat fares across the Derby network.

Zone A will include the current Derby Inner Zone and will be extended to include service 20 up to Chaddesden Road, services 22/24 up to Sussex Circus and service 26 up to Buxton Road.

Zone B will include the remainder of the current Derby zone with the southern boundary aligned with the Derby City area.  Melbourne, Barrow and Stanton by Bridge will no longer be within the Derby Zone but remain in the larger Leicester and Derby Zone. The boundary point for the new Zone B on service 2 will be 'Bonnie Prince'.

Please see map here

We are introducing new flat singles and returns if you are travelling within the same zone or throughout Derby across both Zones A+B. It’ll cost no more than £1.90 for an adult single to travel within a Zone or a flat fare of £2.60 for travel in Zones A+B

Journeys between Derby Bus Station and Derby Train Station will be £1.30 adult single.

We are simplifying our saver tickets by having a Derby wide ticket which replaces existing areas. Tickets available will be Day, Week and 4-Week which will allow travel across the Derby network.

Our great value range of Day, Week, 4-Week and Family tickets, as well as the adult ‘3 Day Bundle’ and adult ’12 Day Bundle’ which are ideal for flexible working. The 10-trip ticket will be withdrawn.

Great Value prices across our network in Leicester Zone Two can be found here.

Melbourne, Barrow and Stanton by Bridge now form part of the Leicester Zone Two. Travel to other parts of Derbyshire, including Swadlincote, will now cost less.

Customers who travel with a concession pass will remain unaffected and be able to continue to travel across the whole of the Arriva network after 0930 on Mondays to Fridays, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
