Closure of A59 Northway (Maghull)

UPDATE
Start date of works postponed until Monday 29th September 2025 and works now extended until Friday 17th October 2025.

On Monday 22nd September 2025 until Friday 26th September 2025 and again from Monday 29th September 2025 until Friday 3rd October 2025, A59 Northway will be closed in both directions from 1900 hrs until 0600 hrs at the junction of Kenyons Lane to the junction of Springfield Road to facilitate highway resurfacing works.

The closure is expected to be in place for 10 days, Monday to Friday 1900 hrs until 0600 hrs, with no weekend closures.

Service 310 will divert as below

• From Liverpool as normal to Westway, Do not turn left onto A59 Northway, instead continue onto Eastway, then continue onto Deyes Lane, then continue onto School Lane, at roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue onto School Lane, then continue onto Maghull Lane, then at roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue onto Maghull Lane, then turn left onto Prescot Road, then continue along Prescot Road, then turn left onto Town Green Lane, then continue along Town Green Lane, then turn right onto Winfred Lane, then resume normal route to Skelmersdale. 
  Omits Northway, Springfield Road, Smithy Lane and Bold Lane.
• From Skelmersdale as normal to Winfred Lane, Do not turn right onto Bold Lane, instead turn left onto Town Green Lane, then continue along Town Green Lane, then turn right onto Prescot Road, then continue along Prescot Road, then turn right onto Maghull Lane, then continue along Maghull Lane, then at roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue along Maghull Lane, then continue onto School Lane, then at roundabout take the 1st exit and continue onto School Lane, then continue onto Deyes Lane, then resume normal route to Liverpool.
  Omits Bold Lane, Smithy Lane, Springfield Road, Northway, Kenyons Lane, Dodds Lane and Moss Lane.
