Changes to the 163 and SW8 Bus Routes

Starting on 31 March 2025, we will implement several adjustments to the 163 and SW8 bus routes in Cross Gates due to the southbound closure of Station Road.

Route 163:
From Monday 31 March 2025, the 163 service will travel through Cross Gates via Green Lane in both directions. As a result, we will no longer serve the Cross Gates Shopping Centre stop. Instead, there will be a new temporary stop near the doctors' surgery for journeys heading towards Castleford.

Route SW8:  
The SW8 service will begin at the first stop on Hollyshaw Lane, which is part of the current route. It will terminate just before Green Lane (at the old Paws for Thought stop), where the bus will continue to Leeds as the 163.

Additionally, we have added an extra stop to the 163 route in Leeds City Centre. In response to concerns that the current diversion requires a long walk to the Bus Station and Leeds Market areas, we will now stop at Victoria G (outside the Victoria Gate Centre) on Eastgate.

There will be no changes to timetables.
