Changes to services in Derby

We're making some changes to these services to better suit demand, build on feedback from our customers and introduce a brand new service to Boulton Moor and Buttercup Leys.

Routes 1A and 1C will be simplified, both running directly along London Road to and from the City Centre.  Together, routes 1A and 1C will give a bus every 10 minuntes between the Bus Station and the Rail Station, with changes to evening journeys to give better connections with trains arriving from London, Birmingham and Leeds.

New route 1B will run over Pride Park and along London Road to the Blue Peter, continuing through Alvaston Village to Keldholm Lane and then calling at Shardlow Road, Snellsmoor Lane, Lulworth Road, Mitford Road and Woodsford Drive in Buttercup Leys.

We're making some changes to the timetable to keep buses running on time and to better match demand, with most Monday to Saturday journeys extended to serve Derby Commercial Park.

In the City Centre route 4 will now arrive at and depart from Osmaston Road Stop A7.

The number of customers using these services has changed over time, with some parts of the route more popular than others.  We need to make changes to the current route and timetable to ensure the services are financially sustainable, enhancing those parts of the route that are used the most and allowing us to continue connecting communities with a frequency that is appropriate to current usage and travel patterns.

Routes 5/5A will continue to run on Monday to Saturday, running hourly in each direction to give a coordinated 30 minute frequency from the City Centre - now departing from St Peter's Street Stop A1 following customer feedback.  We've also changed the evening timetable to better suit shift times at Royal Derby Hospital.

Customers from Sunny Hill should use new route 6 for quicker links to the City Centre, routes 5/5A now running directly along Stenson Road.

On Sundays we will be running a route 5S which will also serve Sunny Hill.

This new route replaces 5/5A through Sunny Hill, running Monday to Saturday and giving a new link to Sinfin Asda as well as a much quicker journey to and from the City Centre - arriving and departing from St Peter's Street Stop A1.

Buses will run up to every 20 minutes on Monday to Friday and every 30 minutes on Saturdays, and combined with route 7 will run up to every 10 minutes between the City Centre, Normanton Road and Sinfin.

Route 6 will run Monday to Saturday, with Sunny Hill served by route 5S on Sundays.

We'll be running buses later into the evening on service 7, as well as updating the timetable to help keep your bus running on time.

Together with new route 6, buses will run up to every 10 minutes between the City Centre, Normanton Road and Sinfin.

We're making some important changes to this route based on requests from our customers.

Arriva X38 buses will now run between Derby and Burton every 20 minutes.  You'll be able to use the full range of Arriva tickets on every journey, and all journeys will track in real-time in the free Arriva UK Bus App.

In Derby, Arriva X38 buses will now arrive at and depart from Bay 10 at Derby Bus Station, giving better waiting facilities and connections to our Derby local network as well as continuing to pick up at Victoria Street on their way out of the City.

Single fares continue to be capped at £2, with Derby Spectrum and Derbyshire Wayfarer tickets accepted onboard Arriva X38 buses when/where valid.  TrentBarton tickets will no longer be valid on Arriva X38.
