Bedlington Station Level Crossing

From Saturday 6th May 2023

We have been advised by Northumberland County Council, that as part of the works required for the Northumberland Rail Line, the crossing at Bedlington Station will be required to close on evenings and Sundays for the next two weeks.

The dates in question are as follows:

  • Saturday 6th May 10pm to Monday 8th May 6am (continuous)
  • Monday 8th May to Saturday 13th May 8pm — 6am (daily overnight)
  • Saturday 13th May 10pm to Monday 15th May 6am (continuous)

As a result we are required to divert services 2 and X21 as follows:

Service 2:
Journeys from Blyth will operate non-stop after leaving Bebside Asda to the bus stop adjacent to Bedlington Station library, then continue towards Morpeth as normal. Services towards Blyth will operate non-stop from the Bedlington Station library to Bebside Asda. As a result, the stops outside of the Clayton Arms or Moorland Avenue/ St John's Road will not be served.

Service X21:
Journeys will be required to divert via the Bedlington/Spine Road interchange, although no stops will be missed out.

Due to the diversions required, some services may operate with slight delays
