From Monday 24 November
From Monday 24 November, Northumberland County Council will be carrying out highways repairs to the A1147 T junction at Bomarsund between 2000 and 0500 the following morning for up to 5 nights.
Due to this closure, services 1, 57A and X21 will be unable to serve the section of route between Stakeford Half Moon and Bedlington Station. Services will be required to divert as follows:
Towards Ashington
Journeys will be required to turn left after Bedlington Station onto Barrington Road, follow to the end, turn right towards Guide Post. At the Guide Post roundabout, turn right onto Stakeford Lane and follow to the Half Moon roundabout before rejoining normal route. The services will use the current 57 stop at the Half Moon Roundabout, where customers can connect with a shuttle service for stops towards Bomarsund.
Towards Blyth, Cramlington and Newcastle
Services will continue ahead at the Half Moon Roundabout serving the stop on Stakeford Lane (service 57 stop), from here buses will continue along to the Guide Post roundabout, turn left towards Choppington, then turning left before Choppington Crossings onto Barrington Road and follow this to rejoin normal route at Bedlington Station.
The diversions will affect any services departing Ashington or Bedlington Stn after 1945.
