Deputy Purchasing Manager



An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Purchasing Manager to join our team in our Maidstone head office. The role will involve working with suppliers and local bus depots ensuring that stock is controlled appropriately and parts are available when required. Using the Oracle purchasing system you will control Purchase Order requests and ensure correct parts are ordered and invoiced at the agreed price.

Arriva Southern Counties has 13 depots across Kent, Surrey, Herfordshire and Essex with engineering stores at each location. The Deputy Purchasing manager will ensure stock control processes are consistent and records are maintained accurately across the region and support the depot stores in implementing efficient stock control and ordering processes. Occasional visits to site to carry ou audits will also be required.


This role plays a fundamental part supporting the smooth running of our business so the ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure, have a methodical and organised approach to their work with the ability to prioritise effectively. Maintaining records on both spreadshets and purchase order systems you will be conversant with Microsoft Excel and knowledge of Oracle or SAP would be an advantage.

No specific qualification is required, however, the ideal candidate will have experience within a stores environment and have an understanding of stock inventory systems. You will be analytical and detail conscious with the abiity to prioritise your work effectively whilst being an integral part of the Arriva team.
