More frequent bus services for Kent Thameside

We're making changes to some of our bus routes and times in the Kent Thameside area from Sunday 9th August, with some big improvements across the area.

There will be more frequent buses for some parts of Kent Thameside, high-quality Sapphire buses for Riverview Park, brand-new buses for Fastrack services and new links for several areas.

Some services will be given new numbers and some routes will be linked differently.

The 'general overview' tab gives you a summary of the main changes and the service-by-service tab lists all our services in the Kent Thameside area, with full details of what is happening to your local bus route.

The other tabs summarise the changes specifically for those areas affected by the changes.

New timetable leaflets for the services that are altering will be available well in advance of the start date and the new times will be available online by mid-July.

We're certainly ringing the changes with our package of timetable and route alterations that will bring improvements to a number of services across the Kent Thameside area.

There will be more frequent buses for Riverview Park, the northern end of Valley Drive and the section of Sapphire Service 480/490 between Gravesend, Northfleet and Bluewater or Dartford.

Our high-quality Sapphire buses will also be serving Riverview Park, with extra Sapphire double-deckers added to the fleet, while Fastrack Services A and B will be run by a new fleet of twenty-one brand-new low-carbon buses fitted with free Wi-Fi, eco-leather seats, next-stop audio-visual screens and three-pin and USB power points.

Another Sapphire improvement is that the 490 will run twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, with a two-hourly service between Valley Drive, Bluewater and Dartford through the middle of the night.

The existing Service 499 will be renumbered 481 and its route between Gravesend and Bluewater will be altered.

Services 495, 496 and 498 will also run to revised routes and times, and these services will be renumbered 482 and 483.

The services to Longfield and New Ash Green will be revised to match demand, with the 433 from Bluewater and the 489 from Gravesend both running every two hours. Between them, the 423, 433 and 489 will give a half-hourly service between Longfield and New Ash Green.

There will also be minor changes to the times of Services 474 and 475 and the route of Service 306/308 will be altered so that it will only run between Gravesend and Sevenoaks, except at peak times and on Sundays when it will continue to serve Swanscombe and Bluewater.

In Sevenoaks it will run between Seal and Sevenoaks Station via St. John's Hill and Mount Harry Road, instead of via Bradbourne Vale Road, Riverhead and London Road.
