Places to visit in Coventry
From art galleries and museums to music venues and pubs, Coventry is a city filled with vibrant culture just waiting to be explored.
Whether you’re looking for a day out of a city break, Coventry is a diverse city that has earned its title as City of Culture 2021. To experience the very best the city has to offer we’ve put together a list of things to do in Coventry:
Coventry Cathedral
Coventry Cathedral is known worldwide for its beautiful and unique architecture. Its distinctive architecture is the result of World War II - Coventry was one of the worst-hit UK cities during the Blitz, which resulted in the destruction of the original Coventry Cathedral.
However, the cathedral was redesigned by Sir Basil Spence and was reopened for visitors in 1962. Today, this extraordinary building shows the dramatic contrast between the medieval ruins and the new cathedral.
The Cathedral also has the spire of St Michael’s church, which can be climbed using the 181 steps and will give you a stunning panoramic view across the city.
