Travelling around Stevenage
With its excellent connections to London, Stevenage has a long history as a commuter town, but scratch the surface and you’ll see that this place has much more to offer than just its proximity to the capital. Split into two sections, Stevenage has an old town, with quaint streets and coaching inns, and a new town, with high street shops, restaurants and modern housing estates with manicured lawns.
There’s plenty to do in Stevenage, where the focus is on green spaces and parkland. Those with a penchant for the outdoors can visit the huge Fairlands Valley, which is perfect for a dog walk, while those looking for a little more culture have a wealth of galleries, theatres and museums to choose from. There’s even a windmill!
Travel is a big deal in Stevenage. There are regular trains to the capital but with Arriva buses, residents can visit Hemel Hempstead, Letchworth and Luton to name but a few!
