Travelling around Hatfield
Twenty miles north of London, the town of Hatfield is a delightful mix of the old and new. This commuter town offers a friendly and welcoming buzz, with the old town clustered around the iconic Hatfield House to the east and the vibrant post-war new town to the west.
Old Hatfield has Grade II listed buildings, churches and cosy, historic pubs with roaring fires. The new town, meanwhile, offers contemporary art galleries exhibiting both new and established artists, health clubs, shops and restaurants. Much of this shiny new area is built on the site that was once home to the aerospace industry.
With Luton and Stansted airports both nearby, plus commuter rail services offering regular services into the capital, travel links are excellent. Arriva buses offer services from Stevenage, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead, Harlow and London Heathrow, making it a piece of cake to explore Hatfield and the surrounding areas.
