State-of-the-art buses with free 4G Wi-Fi and USB charging points now running on the One
New technology, comfier seats and cleaner air
Arriva’s service between Rayleigh, Thundersley, Hadleigh, Leigh, Westcliff, Southend, Southchurch, Bournes Green, Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness is getting an upgrade from early October when eighteen brand-new stylish state-of-the-art double-deckers take to the road.
Based at our local depot in Southend they will be running the One with its ten-minute frequency on Mondays to Fridays, twelve minutes on Saturdays and every half an hour on Sundays.
The smart new buses will replace single-deckers, offering a bird’s-eye view of the route.
Not only that but while you’re on board you will be able to get connected using the free 4G Wi-Fi, allowing you to chat with friends, catch up on emails, browse the net or do some online shopping.
If your phone, tablet or laptop is running low on power there’s no need to worry as each seatback has a USB charging point, allowing you to top up your battery while you’re on the move.
The buses have light and airy interiors with seats upholstered in smart eco-leather material to give a comfortable ride.
Built in Scotland by Alexander Dennis, one of the UK’s leading bus manufacturers, the buses feature the latest engine technology with minimal exhaust emissions to improve air quality through the towns and residential areas they serve.
This is complemented by 'stop-start' technology that reduces fuel consumption by stopping the engine when the bus is stationary and then re-starting it when it is ready to pull away from bus stops or traffic lights.
With seats for 73 passengers, the new buses are fully-accessible and we are sure that our customers will love travelling on them.
