Awesome news, contactless payment has come to the Herts and Essex region
Travel with a tap thanks to contactless payments with your card or smartphone
Whether you’re commuting to work or heading to the pub, bus travel around the Herts and Essex region is now much easier thanks to the roll out of contactless payments on all Arriva buses.
Riding the bus should be easy, but we know searching for loose change can be a pain. With contactless, you can pay fares with a tap of a debit or credit card or your preferred device – meaning no more counting out coppers to give to the driver.
What is contactless payment?
Contactless lets you board the bus without worrying about having the right change. It’s available on most debit and credit cards, and you can use it to make instant payments with a tap, without ever entering your pin.
There’s no minimum spend amount to use contactless payment onboard our buses. As long as it’s under £30, you can pay to travel just by tapping your card on the ticket machine.
Contactless is also available on a range of Apple/Android devices, including:
- Wearable technology, like Fitbit bands and the Apple Watch
Check that your card or device is contactless-ready before boarding to take advantage of this new faster way to pay.
