Our Green Line coach customers can take advantage of many money-saving ticket options. Ticket prices depend on where you get on and where you're going but you can rest assured there are lots of ticket types to suit your travel needs.

Ticket types


Single tickets

  • Perfect for one-way journeys, you can buy a single ticket from the driver with cash, contactless or via the Arriva M-Ticket app.

Day return tickets

  • Planning on returning on the same day? Buy a return from the driver in cash, contactless, via the Arriva M-Ticket app or online. Just keep your ticket safe so you can show it on your return journey.
  • You can return at any time on the same day and there's no need to book in advance.

Peak and Off-peak Day return tickets

  • Peak tickets can be bought directly from the coach driver, with cash, contactless, via the Arriva M-Ticket App or online.
  • Off-peak return tickets become available on the first service after 09:00 travelling to London and any time at weekends and public holidays.
  • Have a concessionary pass and starting from London? Peak times don't apply. However the Green Liner Plus is not valid till after 09:30.

Period Return tickets

  • Allow you to return any time up to 3 months after your outward journey, including the same day. Buy them from your driver in cash or contactless, or via the Arriva M-Ticket app and online here. Just keep your ticket safe so that you can show it on your return journey.
  • In some areas we offer off-peak period return fares, which save you more if you can travel at less busy times.

Season tickets

  • Make as many journeys as you want on any of the routes in your chosen zone for a whole year – that’s any 365 consecutive days (or 366 if it’s a leap year).
  • You can buy Season tickets online, as an m-ticket on your mobile phone and from our travel shops.
  • Season tickets can’t be shared with anybody else. They can only be used by the person for whom it was issued. You'll need to show a photo card when travelling.
  • Green Line 755 and 757 season tickets are also valid on Arriva local buses in the Luton and Dunstable zone

Special travel deals for people over 60


Your concessionary bus pass is valid for free travel when boarding in Hertfordshire or London.  It is not valid for free journeys from Luton or Luton Airport and a discounted single ticket must be purchased.

Greenline fares for children


On Green Line coaches, children aged 0-4 years travel for free. For children aged 5 and older, it depends on where your journey starts:

Starting from Essex

  • 5 -13 years - a child fare will be issued, no identification required
  • 14-18 years - a child fare will be issued if a valid Faresaver card is shown
  • 18+ - full fare must be paid

Starting from Hertfordshire

  • 5-11 years - a child fare will be issued, no identification required
  • 11-16 years - child fares available to anyone with a Herts County

Council Savercard

  • 16-18 years - students who hold a Savercard get a discounted rate
  • 18+ - special student fares are available if you show a NUS/ISIC card

Starting from Luton or London

  • 5-15 years - a child fare will be issued, no identification required
  • 16 years - full fare needs to be paid
  • 18+ - special student fares are available if you show a NUS/ISIC card

How to buy your Greenline tickets


Buy online

Buy single, return and season Green Line tickets quickly and securely in our online store. The ticket will be delivered direct to your mobile phone. You can also choose to have longer life tickets posted to you.

Buy tickets online

Print At Home option for single and return tickets

For Single and Return tickets you can use our Print At Home service. However you must check you have access to a working printer before buying them.

Once the purchase is complete we'll send you a link to access your tickets. You can only access this once so please keep your printed tickets safe. Your confirmation email is not valid for travel.

Buy on your mobile phone

You can buy Green Line single, return and season tickets by downloading our free app to your phone. Buy your ticket in advance and then activate your ticket when you’re ready to travel. Display the ticket on your phone screen, show it to the bus driver and hop aboard!

Buy from your driver in cash

You can buy single, return and season tickets up to 1 month from your driver in cash. The driver will also be able to advise you on the best ticket to get.

How much luggage can I bring with me? 
2 medium cases (20kg, 70 x 45 x30cm) or 1 large case (20kg, 75 x 50 x 32 cm).

Can I use an All zone ticket on the service?
No, the All Zone ticket is not valid on the Greenline 757 service.

Can I reserve a seat on a specific coach?
Our coach service operates on a first come first served basis, no seats or journey times are able to be reserved.

Do I have to specify a departure time?
No, tickets purchased are not for a specific journey time

Can I purchase a ticket from the driver?
Yes you can -single, return and 1 week from your driver in card/cash. You can also purchase a monthly season in cash. The driver will also be able to advise you on the best ticket to get

How can I pay for my ticket?
