Say hello to Leighton's buses
Bringing a better bus service for Leighton Buzzard
Leighton’s buses is operated by Arriva, in partnership with Central Bedfordshire Council. We’re proud to connect Leighton Buzzard and Linslade with the new developments of Clipstone Park and Chamberlains Barn. The network of routes provides seamless connections between bus and train, designed around fast services to and from London Euston.
Our fleet of high specification, ultra low-emission buses are fully accessible and packed with great on-board features such as next stop announcements and USB charging. And, as usual, our friendly team of local drivers will be ready to welcome you on board.

Getting around by bus
Whether you’re a frequent bus user, or you’re catching the bus for the very first time - we’re here to welcome you on board Leighton’s buses.
Journey planning by bus couldn’t be easier. There’s lots of ways to find out what buses you can catch and how frequently they run. We recommend using the Arriva UK Bus app which will help plan your journey in just a few simple taps. You can also track your bus, giving you live departure times from your favourite bus stop. If you’re using Leighton’s buses to connect to our other services to go beyond the town, you can also buy your ticket directly through the app. We also have timetables on our website, in booklets at key locations in the town, and on the bus stops themselves.
We recommend getting to the bus stop around five minutes before your bus is due to depart. As the bus approaches, the bus will show its route number and where it is travelling to. If you’re not sure, our friendly drivers will be happy to answer any questions you have. To stop the bus, signal clearly - popping your arm out is recommended, but be as creative as you’d like. The driver will pull over and will lower the platform to allow you to easily step on board. The driver may ask you where you’re travelling to - this is to help us gather data on how Leighton’s buses are performing. If you’ve got a Concessionary travel pass, you will be asked to scan this on the ticket machine, but you will not be issued a ticket. It’s as simple as that - grab a seat and let us do the driving for you. If you need to charge your phone, we’ve got free USB charging, plus there’s free WiFi too.
When you’re almost at your destination, press the bell to let the driver know that you need the next bus stop. Our audio/visual next stop information will let you know which stop is the one you need. Please remain in your comfy seat until the bus has fully come to a stop - we’ll always wait for you. And that’s it! Give our driver a cheery wave and head out to do your thing, and we’d hope to see you again very soon. If you’ve got feedback on your journey, then let us know using our contact page.
On Tuesdays and Saturdays, buses leave from West Street, which is just a few minutes’ walk away from High Street and right in the heart of the town centre. Bus stops can be accessed by walking through Waterborne Walk Shopping Centre.
Buses leave at the same times on Tuesdays as they do during the rest of the week, so you can jump on Leighton’s buses to sample everything from classic market staples such as fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, plants and cut flowers to books, shoes, clothing & food.
