How the scheme works

It's a simple 2-step process to get your ticket:

Step 1: Order your ticket online by choosing your local travel zone from the list below

  • Complete the online application form by clicking the 'apply now' button - you will need your bank account details.
  • Payments are taken on the 1st or 15th of each month
  • Please allow at least 2 weeks to register before the date of your first Direct Debit payment
  • For payments on the 1st, tickets are dispatched and commence on the 12th of the month
  • Payments made on the 15th are dispatched and commence on the 27th of each month
  • Please note the nearest Direct Debit date will be the default option to choose

Step 2: Receive your ticket in the post each month

m-tickets can also be delivered to your iPhone or Android handset. To receive an m-ticket you must download the free Arriva Bus UK app and register your details.

Redevelopment of St Margaret’s Bus Station

From 31st December 2020 St Margaret’s Bus Station will close for redevelopment for approximately 18 months. Services using St Margaret’s Bus Station will be relocated to the nearby City Centre bus stops. More information can be found on our website at Midlands News.

Closure of Burton High Street affecting service X38 from 4th Jan 2021

From 4th Jan 2021, Burton High Street will be closed for 5 months for Staffordshire County Council improvement works. Service X38 will be unable to serve Burton High Street and will be diverted. Go to Midlands News for more info.

Closure of Stoplatch in Shrewsbury affecting some services from 18th Jan 2021

Stoplatch in Shrewsbury will be closed from 18th Jan for three weeks. Buses will divert via St John's Hill and Bellstone. Find full details of affected services on Midlands News.

Closure of Holbrook Road in Alvaston affecting services 1, 1A and F1 from 25th Jan

Holbrook Rd will be closed between 09.30 and 18.30 each day from 25th Jan to 15th Feb 2021. Services 1, 1A and F1 will be unable to serve Holbrook Rd and will be diverted via Shardlow Rd and Field Ln. The nearest bus stops will be Bembridge Dr for 1/1A and Field Ln for F1.

Minor change to service 74 Nuneaton to Coventry from 27th Jan

From Wednesday 27th January, the 1520 school day only service 74 bus will change to start from St Joseph’s RC School at 1515, then run via St. Thomas More School at 1525 and Nuneaton Bus Station at 1535, before continuing via the current times.

Temporary suspension of Harlescott Park and Ride in Shrewsbury

Harlescott Park and Ride will be suspended after the last journey on Friday 29th January until further notice. Passenger numbers using the service are very low and falling due to the lockdown. Shropshire Council will continue to review the situation in line with government guidance.

Newbridge landslide affecting routes 2, 2A and 2C

Services 2, 2A and the morning 2C (Oswestry – Wrexham) are unable to serve Whitehurst Pentre and Newbridge bus stops due to a landslide. Buses are diverted between Chirk and Cefn Mawr via the bypass.

Derby Park and Ride service changes from Saturday 30th January

Derby’s P&R Saturday timetable will be changed to run every 30 minutes from 30th January. This change has been implemented to provide a service for the public attending the NHS vaccination centre at Pride Park. For the latest timetable, go to Midlands News.
