State-of-the-art buses, more evening journeys and a new Sunday service for the 310
Arriva’s service between Hertford, Ware, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Cheshunt and Waltham Cross is getting an upgrade from the end of August when fourteen brand-new stylish state-of-the-art double-deckers take to the road.
Based at our local depot in Ware they will be running the 310 which will have extra evening journeys added on Mondays to Saturdays and a new hourly Sunday service from 28th August.
The smart new buses will replace single-deckers, offering a bird’s-eye view of the route.
Not only that but while you’re on board you will be able to get connected using the free 4G Wi-Fi, allowing you to chat with friends, catch up on emails, browse the web or do some online shopping.
If your phone, tablet or laptop is running low on power then there’s no need to worry as each seat has a USB charging point, allowing you to top up your battery while you’re on the move.
The buses have light and airy interiors with seats upholstered in smart eco-leather material to give a comfortable ride.
Built in Yorkshire by Alexander Dennis, one of the UK’s leading bus manufacturers, the buses feature the latest engine technology with minimal exhaust emissions to improve air quality through the towns and villages they serve.
With seats for 73 passengers, the new buses are fully-accessible and we are sure that our customers will love travelling on them.
More evening buses. New Sunday service.
The timetable for the 310 will change on 28th August to improve reliability and to give a seven-days-a-week service.
The daytime frequency on Mondays to Saturdays will give a bus every 12 minutes and we will be running more evening journeys which will be good for people attending evening classes at the colleges along the route, as well as for those enjoying an evening out or going to or from work during the evening.
The new Sunday timetable will provide an hourly frequency, adding value to our range of day, weekly and 4-weekly tickets that offer regular users of our buses even more opportunities to travel. Don’t forget, the more you travel, the more you save!
We are naming one of the new buses ‘Laura Trott’ to celebrate her amazing achievement as Britain’s greatest female Olympian.
Laura grew up in Cheshunt and we are pleased to celebrate her success on one of our buses that will travel through Cheshunt several times a day.
Name a bus after your local hero!
We want to name the other thirteen new buses after local people who have done good work for their communiy in the towns and villages along the line of route of the 310.
If you know someone that is an 'unsung hero' who has done sterling work for their local community and who you think deserves to be celebrated on one of our buses then tell us who they are and why you want to nominate them by completing the form below.
Nominations must be submitted by 30th September and we will announce the names that selected soon after that date.
