Whether you’re heading to work or popping into town, until 31st December 2024 a single bus journey will cost no more than £2.
Ready to travel? You can buy your £2 single ticket on the Arriva UK Bus app or on board with cash or your contactless card or device.
You can also find full details of your service in our Arriva UK Bus app, which is free to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play, or you can use the journey planner on this page. Simply put in your location and destination and it will give you all the buses available at the time chosen.
Although the 2 pound bus fare has been extended, not all locations are included in the capped bus fare.

Where can I use the £2 fare?
The £2 fare is only available in England outside of London. On cross border services into Wales you can travel for £2 if you’re catching the bus from England. However, normal fare stages will apply once the service enters Wales.
My ticket costs less than £2 already, will I pay more?
If you journey already costs less than £2, it will remain at its current price.
Which routes are not included in the £2 fare?
The £2 fare is only available in England outside of London.

Will the fare caps already available in Manchester, West Yorkshire and Tees Valley be affected?
Manchester, West Yorkshire and Tees Valley have already introduced price caps as part of longer-term schemes. These will remain unchanged.
How long are tickets purchased on the app valid for?
Mobile tickets are only valid for 1 hour once activated.
Please activate your ticket as close to your journey as possible.

The 2 pound bus fare cap is a scheme funded by the UK Government to help ease cost of living pressures. This means the cost of an adult single bus fare will be a maximum of £2 in England outside London
