Stop and Stay
Arriva’s Stop and Stay Road Safety Campaign
Since 2023, Arriva’s Stop and Stay campaign has been helping children and young people stay safe when crossing the road after getting off the bus.
We’ve created a road safety booklet and posters for children up to age 16, all built around one clear message: don’t cross in front of the bus – stop and stay at the kerb, wait for the bus to move off, and then cross safely.
Matthew Mort, Risk Manager at Arriva, said:
“It’s vital that children take a moment to stop and think before stepping into the road. We know everyone’s in a hurry, but waiting just a few seconds can make all the difference. Parents and carers can play an important role too by reminding children about the dangers of crossing too soon and encouraging safe habits.
There’s lots of practical tips and advice in our booklet, so I’d recommend you start there.”
