One lucky lady hits the shops
The winner of a £500 shopping spree at the White Rose Shopping Centre and Debenhams hit the shops this week.
Arriva Yorkshire launched a competition when they sent pocket timetables and money off vouchers to over 20,000 homes along their 202 203 bus route.
Lucky winner Leanne Findlay had entered the online competition after receiving her pocket timetable in the post and was randomly drawn from over 1500 entries.
Leanne Findlay from Leeds said: “When Arriva Yorkshire contacted me I couldn't believe I was the winner. The shopping spree was great fun and I now have a wardrobe full of new clothes. Until now I’ve never won anything big, so this was a real treat for me."
Nigel Featham, managing director for Arriva Yorkshire said “This year we’re investing over £12m in new vehicles for Yorkshire, we’re really proud to be able to offer our customers a newer, improved level of service. We’re delighted Leanne enjoyed her day and it was great to work alongside the White Rose Shopping Centre and Debenhams to make sure it was a prize to remember!”
White Rose Shopping Centre director Mark Nott was on hand to present Leanne with her prize, along with Lesley Jones, selling support manager for Debenhams. The Arriva Angels gave a helping hand to carry Leanne’s shopping bags.
The 202/203 Leeds to Huddersfield bus service runs every 15 minutes and drops passengers right outside the White Rose Shopping Centre.
