Service Changes in Northumberland - from Sunday 16th November

15 October 14

In September 2012 we launched the X14/14, X15 and X18 to provide quick links from Berwick, Alnwick, Rothbury and Morpeth to the Regent Centre and Newcastle. Passenger numbers have increased in many areas, and we have received a lot of feedback about how we can improve the services. However, Northumberland County Council has recently reduced funding for student travel, which means that less people are now using the buses to go to college.

We are therefore making some changes to each service from Sunday 16th November 2014. These will improve timekeeping and better match capacity with demand, especially between Alnwick, Belford and Berwick where there is a lot more demand during the summer than in the winter. We have worked closely with the Council, other bus operators and local stakeholders to ensure that the new timetables meet the majority of customers’ needs, especially in rural areas where services run less frequently.

The changes are described below. Timetables are available soon, keep checking back. Thank you for your patience.
