Student Saver tickets in North East

Students studying full time at universities, colleges or sixth form schools in the North East can now buy money-saving tickets lasting for a term or full academic year. The tickets allow students studying in the region to travel anywhere, any time, on Arriva buses for a simple one-off payment.
To be eligible you must be 16 or over on 1 September 2010 and be studying a full time course at university, college or sixth form at school.

This ticket is valid for travel on any Arriva North East service operating in any of the North East area
Tyne & Wear Only
This ticket is for travel only in the Tyne & Wear area. The boundary points for this area are: anywhere in the Tyne & Wear county.
Darlington Borough Only
This ticket is for travel only in the Darlington Borough area. The boundary points for this area are: Heighinton Road/Red House Farm, School Aycliffe/Hydro Polymers, Caotham Mundeville/Brafferton, Longnewton Reservoir, Durham Tees Valley Airport, Neasham, Hurworth Place (towards Northallerton), Blackwell Lane End/Blands Corner, Headlam Road End, Killerby Grange, and Royal Oak.
Teesside & East Cleveland Only
This ticket is for travel only in the Teesside & East Cleveland area. The boundary points for this area are: Runswick Bay, Scaling Dam, Great Ayton, Coulby Newham, Hemlington, Kirklevington, Durham Tees Valley Airport, Longnewton, Bishopton, Thorpe Larches and Newton Bewley.
County Durham Only
This ticket is for travel only in the County Durham area. The boundary points for this area are: County Durham boundary. It also includes journeys that start or end within this boundary. i.e. X1 service to Middlesbrough or Newcastle. It is not valid for local travel in Darlington.
Durham City Only
This ticket is valid for travel only in Durham City. The boundary points for Durham City are Framwellgate Moor, Pity Me, Arnison Centre, Brasside, Belmont, Sherburn Village, High Shincliffe, Cock O’The North, Dere Park, Broompark and Langley Park.

1. Who can buy a Student Saver?
The Student Saver is available to all full time students who are studying at either a college, sixth form school or a university in the North East of England.
2. Which area is the ticket valid for?
The Student Saver can only be used in the zones stated. The full North East ticket can be used anywhere between Berwick and Scarborough. These tickets can only be used on Arriva services.
3. When can I use my Student Saver?
It can be used anytime, any day until the last bus. So you can travel to and from uni and then go at night. You can even use your ticket for weekend travel.
4. Where can I buy a Student Saver?
They are available right here on the website. You can also buy a Student Saver from any Arriva Travelshop. Travelshops are in Stockton, Middlesbrough, Blyth and Newcastle.
5. What happens if I lose my Student Saver?
Losing your ticket is like losing money and we cannot guarantee to replace it unless we are satisfied that the ticket cannot be used for travel by any other person. We may at our discretion replace lost or stolen tickets providing that the occurrence has been reported to the police. A charge (£25) will always be made for the replacement of a lost or stolen ticket. We will prosecute anyone attempting to travel on Arriva services with fraudulent or stolen tickets. The tickets cover all days between these dates:
Academic Year Ticket: 6 September 2010 to 22 July 2011
Autumn Term Ticket: 6 September 2010 to 17 December 2010
Spring Term Ticket: 3 January 2011 to 15 April 2011
Summer Term Ticket: 2 May 2011 to 22 July 2011
