Caer Gybi Roman Fort, overlooks the harbour in Holyhead. It is thought to be a late Roman Fort and naval base used to defend the Island from marauding pirates in the Irish Sea. Today the remains of the walls of the Roman Fort butt up to the walls of St Cybi's Church and form a peaceful area within the town.

Step back in time at the oldest lifeboat station in Wales, which houses a wonderful collection of exhibits that tells the fascinating maritime history of Holyhead. A part of the museum's complex is the permanent exhibition "Holyhead at War" housed in a Second World War air raid shelter situated alongside the Maritime Museum.
