Explore Medway by open-top bus
Arriva is pleased to be running Medway Council's Explore Medway open-top guided tour bus that will take you between the local tourist attractions in Rochester, Chatham and Gillingham, many of which are offering discounts to Explore Medway passengers.
The tour will run daily between 26th July and 7th September 2014 inclusive.
You either take the complete tour lasting 45 minutes or hop off at some of the attractions along the way and carry on the tour on the next journey.
The bus will run hourly with seven journeys through the day.
The main starting point will be the rear of Rochester Visitor Centre in Corporation Street (opposite the former market site) but you can start your journey at any of the stops on the route.
The recorded commentary will point out all the places of interest that you pass and it features the voice of well-known TV personality Brian Blessed. You'll learn about 1,000 years of the Medway Towns' history during the 45-minute tour.
An all-day ticket costs £5.50 for adults, £4.50 for concessions and £3 for children.
There is also a Family Ticket costing £13 for two adults and two children, or one adult and three children.
These tickets can also be used on Arriva Service 197 to get to Upnor Castle.
Please note that English National Concesssionary Passes are not valid on the Explore Medway Tour.
In the event of the open-top bus not being available, we reserve the right to substitute a normal double-deck bus but this will have no recorded commentary.
