Summary of changes
X1 Blyth to Newcastle via Cramlington
This service will be split into several sections with the route from Blyth to Shankhouse Roundabout replaced by new service X10 and the route from Shankhouse Roundabout to Newcastle via High Pit, Cramlington Shops and Beacon Hill replaced by new service 41.
X2 Blyth to Newcastle via Cramlington
This service is replaced by new service X11.
X3 Blyth to Newcastle via Cramlington
This service is replaced by new service 41 on the section from Blyth to Shankhouse Roundabout and by the new X10/X11 services from Shankhouse Roundabout to Newcastle via Parkside, Cramlington Shops and Southfield Green.
X4 Blyth to Newcastle (peak time only journeys)
These journeys will be replaced from Blyth to Shankhouse Roundabout by new service 41 and from Shankhouse Roundabout to Newcastle by the new X10/X11 services.
X5 Blyth to Newcastle via Cowpen & Cramlington Shops
The route of the service will change and all buses will now additionally serve Fern Drive in Dudley , Burradon, West Moor and Quorum Business Park.
X6 Blyth to Newcastle via Isabella
The route of the service will change and all buses will now additionally serve Parkside, Cramlington Shops, Northumbrian Road, Fern Drive in Dudley, Burradon West Moor and Quorum Business Park. This change gives an additional link from Isabella to Cramlington Shops (following customer requests) and along with X5, gives a faster service from Fern Drive in Dudley to Newcastle.
X12 Blyth to Newcastle via South Beach (express)
A new afternoon peak journey will be added from Newcastle to Blyth at 17.15
X30 Ashington to Newcastle via Hawthorn Road & North Seaton
This service will be replaced by new service X20 which will run via Alexandra Road (current X31 route) and through North Seaton and then via the Spine Road express to Newcastle, and will now be increased to every 20 minutes.
X31 Newbiggin to Newcastle via Ashington & Bedlington
This service will be replaced by new service X21 with the section between North Seaton Roundabout and Ashington Bus Station replaced by new service X20.
X32 Newbiggin to Newcastle via Wansbeck Hospital, Ashington & Bedlington
This route is replaced by new service X21.
X33 Ashington to Newcastle via Wansbeck Estate & Guide Post
This service will be re-numbered as X22 and will now run every 20 minutes on its current route. At Ashington the buses from X22 will then run back to Newcastle as X20 journeys which will give customers from the Fallowfield or Park Road areas of Ashington the opportunity of a slighter faster journey to Newcastle via the Spine Road.
X42 Blyth to Newcastle via Cramlington & Dudley
This route is replaced by the new X11 service between Blyth and Cramlington and by new services 42 & 43 between Cramlington and Newcastle via Dudley.
X43 Blyth to Newcastle via Cramlington & Dudley
This route is replaced by the new X10 service between Blyth and Cramlington and by new services 42 & 43 between Cramlington and Newcastle via Dudley.
X44 Newbiggin to Blyth
Our Saturday only service will be withdrawn as new service 1a will provide an hourly link from Newbiggin to Blyth, 6 days a week.
X44 Morpeth – Newcastle (Bargain Bus)
This service will be re-numbered as X14, but there are no alterations to the timetable.
X45 Pegswood – Newcastle (Bargain Bus)
This service will be re-numbered as X15, but there are no alterations to the timetable.
C1 Cramlington Town Service (Eastfield Lea – Collingwood Grange)
This service will be replaced by new service 53 from Eastfield Lea to Cramlington Shops. Collingwood Grange will no longer be served due to falling passenger numbers and problems in turning the buses round in the Estate. Our X5/X6 services will provide a half-hourly service from Northumbrian Road to Cramlington Shops and Newcastle.
M46 Newcastle – Great Park (Park & Ride site)
This service will be re-numbered as 46 and will now terminate at Featherstone Grove in the Great Park residential area. Evening and Sunday journeys will alter their route following suggestions from residents in Brunton Park and will now run to the turning circle on Polwarth Drive then back to the Great North Road and along Brunton Lane before heading down Netherwitton Way & Featherstone Grove. These journeys will be numbered as 46a. The Park & Ride site and Brunton Lane will be served by new service X40.
M55 Newcastle – Forest Hall Meadway
The daytime frequency for this service will remain unchanged, but we have added a new hourly evening service and a half-hourly daytime service on a Sunday. The service will also be re-numbered to 55.
10/10a North Shields to Cramlington via Seaton Delaval
These services will be replaced by new services 57/57a.
35 Newbiggin - Morpeth
Minor timetable changes to this service and a new look Sunday service with an improved frequency from Ashington to Morpeth.
40/41 Newcastle to Burradon
These services will be replaced by new services 42/43 from Newcastle to Dudley with Fern Drive and Burradon having a new half hourly service to Newcastle on services X5 & X6.
42/43 Newcastle to Cramlington & Blyth
Our daytime 42 service will continue and in conjunction with service 43 will provide a bus every 20 minutes from Newcastle to Cramlington via Dudley. The evening & Sunday services between Newcastle & Blyth via Cramlington will be replaced by new services 10 & 11 with new Express journeys on X10 & X11 from Blyth and Cramlington on Sunday daytimes.
43a Newcastle to East Hartford
This service will be replaced by new service 43 which will run hourly, but will combine with new service 42 to provide a 20 minute service from Cramlington Shops to Newcastle via Dudley.
44 Hazlerigg to Whitley Bay to Newcastle
This service will be replaced by new service X44 which will run from Dinnington and Hazlerigg to Newcastle. The section from Newcastle to Whitley Bay will be replaced by new services X8 & X9.
45 Dinnington to Newcastle
Most journeys on this service will now terminate at Brunswick Industrial Estate with only some early morning and early evening journeys continuing to Dinnington. The frequency of the service will increase from every 15 minutes to every 10 minutes and this service combines with new services 41, 42 & 43 to provide buses every 5 minutes from Wideopen Travellers Rest to Newcastle. Dinnington will now be served by the new X44 service and customers travelling from Dinnington to Wideopen will be able to use the new service 3.
45a/b Dinnington/Hazlerigg to Newcastle
This evenings and Sundays only service will remain unchanged.
101 Blyth to Kingston Park via Cramlington & Newcastle Airport
This service will be replaced by new service 3 and will run via a revised route to now link Bedlington with Cramlington, Newcastle Airport and Kingston Park.
306 Tynemouth to Newcastle
This route will no longer serve Battle Hill Drive and will operate on the same route as the 308. Battle Hill Drive will now be served by new services X8/X9 which will provide a half hourly link to Newcastle and Whitley Bay.
307 Hadrian Lodge to Newcastle
This experimental service will be replaced by new services X8 & X9 between Newcastle and Station Road, but the Wiltshire Drive area will no longer be served.
308 Blyth to Newcastle via Whitley Bay
This service will change to run every 15 minutes from Blyth to Newcastle with a half-hourly service on evenings and Sundays. The additional Bargain Bus journeys on this service will be withdrawn.
337 Wallsend to Whitley Bay via Cobalt Business Park
This route will be replaced by new services X8 & X9 on the section from Station Road to Whitley Bay, but Wallsend will no longer be served. Other bus companies operate services from Cobalt Business Park to Wallsend.
340/342 Cresswell/Newbiggin to Freeman Hospital via Ashington & Cramlington
These services will be replaced by new services 1/1a from Cresswell & Newbiggin to Ashington and by new service 52 from Ashington to Freeman Hospital. Through customers will need to change at Ashington with through fares being available.
343 Whitley Bay to Cramlington/Morpeth
This service is replaced by new route 53 which will run as per the current 343 route, but will be extended to Blyth to provide a new link from Killingworth to Blyth. Customers travelling on the section between Cramlington and Morpeth can still do so on new service 42.
350/351 Dudley Circular Routes
These services will remain unchanged.
355 Whitley Bay to Newcastle via Cobalt Business Park
This service will be replaced by the new X8 & X9 service from Newcastle via the Coast Road to Benton Asda and will then run via the current 355 route to Whitley Bay (also serving Northumberland Park Metro Interchange). New service 56 will call at Four Lane Ends to retain the link from Gosforth & Longbenton Estate to Four Lane Ends. Service 55 (previously M55) will also no run hourly on evenings and half-hourly on Sunday daytime to replace the 355 in the Forest Hall area.
356 Tynemouth to Newcastle via North Shields & Killingworth
This route will be replaced by new service 56 which will call additionally at Four Lane Ends Metro Interchange and will now terminate at North Shields. Cobalt Business Park will now only be served at peak times only. West Allotment will now be served by services X8 & X9 throughout the day and at weekends, so the new 56 service will not serve West Allotment on evenings and Sundays.
363/364 Blyth to Newcastle via Seaton Delaval & Seghill
This route will be renumbered as X4 with all journeys now serving Tillmouth Avenue in Seaton Delaval. The new Quorum Business Park will also be served on the new route.
390 Blyth to Benridge Park
This route will be replaced by new service 53.
391 Blyth to Newsham
This route will be replaced by new service X10.
393 Blyth to Newsham via Isabella
This route will be replaced by the X6 which will give Isabella a new link to Cramlington Shops as well as Blyth.
420 Ashington to Alnwick via Amble
This service will be replaced by new service 1 and will now terminate at Amble. The route from Amble to Alnwick will no longer be served due to falling passenger numbers, but an alternative is available with service 518.
441 Blyth to Wansbeck Hospital via Ashington
This route will be replaced by new service 1/1a and new links will be created from Blyth to Amble, Cresswell and Newbiggin.
447/448/48 Blyth to Morpeth via Bedlington
These routes will be replaced by new services 2 & 3 which will provide a service every 20 minutes from Blyth to Bedlington. The service from South Beach to Blyth will be replaced by new service 41.
555 Four Lane Ends to Quorum Business Park SHUTTLE
This service will now only serve the first roundabout in Balliol Business Park and will run further into Quorum Business Park in preparation for the new Tesco Bank call centre. A new earlier morning journey will also run from Four Lane Ends at 06.31
